About Mrs. Robinson
It is going to be another wonderful year in 5th grade! Let me tell you a little about myself… I was born in Rochester, New York. We moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma when I was in the 3rd grade (not many people know that I know the entire Oklahoma State song by heart). We then moved to Charlotte when I was entering 5th grade. I still have family in New York, but I call Charlotte home.
I have a set of fraternal twin sisters that are about 13 years younger than myself. One is living in Atlanta, Georgia and is a 3rd grade teacher and the other one works for Exxon and lives in Houston, Texas.
I graduated from NC A&T State University with my degree in Elementary Education. Aggie Pride! I also have my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Ashford University. I have been teaching for 14 years (this will be my 15th year).
After graduating from college, I got married and moved to Clarksville, Tennessee. My husband was in the Army and was stationed at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. In Clarksville I taught 7th, 8th, and 5th grades. We lived there for four years and when my husband got out of the military we moved to Severn, Maryland. I worked at a Title I school in Glen Burnie, Maryland for 2 years where I taught 5th grade. I was raised by a single parent and so when my sisters were about to go to college, we moved back to Charlotte (so my mother wouldn’t be here alone). I taught at Highland Creek Elementary for 9 years (since the school opened). I am so excited to begin a new journey here at Parkside Elementary!
I have a husband and three wonderful boys (JR age 15, Jordan age 12, and last but not least Tyler age 5). JR is an 11th grader at Mallard Creek High School, Jordan is a 7th grader at Ridge Road Middle School, and Tyler is in kindergarten here at Parkside Elementary. They keep me busy!
